1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this section command memorandum is to establish procedures for conducting and submitting documentation for the Airport Police Section’s Park and Walk Program.
2. POLICY N/A 3. RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 It is the responsibility of each watch commander to ensure that all sworn personnel comply with this Section Command Memorandum.
4. ACTION
4.1 Park and Walk will be conducted in-service.
4.2 Each officer assigned to a vehicle will conduct park and walk during his or her tour of duty.
4.3 During each tour of duty Officers should accumulate a minimum of one hour in park and walk time, preferably, at the beginning and near the end of the officer’s tour of duty.
4.4 Officers will log all park and walk(s) on his/her daily activity sheet recording the location, time started and the ending time of the park and walk. The abbreviation of P/W will be placed in the signal box on the activity sheet to identify all park and walks.
4.5 Watch commanders will compile his watches Park and Walk data on the Park and Walk Weekly Report Form. This form will capture the date time and location of all park and walks for the previous week.
4.6 Each watch commander will submit the completed Park and Walk Weekly Report Form to the Section Commander’s office no later than 0800 each Thursday.
4.7 Vehicles assigned within the A.O.A., ramp and perimeter vehicles, will conduct Park and Walk(s) of the concourses, AGT, Airline Hangers, Construction Areas, Fuel farms, and A.O.A. side of the Cargo Buildings Fire Houses, etc.
4.8 Vehicles assigned to the street and parking lots will conduct Park and Walk(s) of the Terminal, Parking Lots, West Curb, Taxi Assembly Area, and street side of Cargo Buildings, Fire Houses, etc.
