To establish procedure for the receiving and reviewing of recorded conversations.
The Communication Section will follow established procedures for the receiving and reviewing of recorded conversations.
3.1 The Commanding Officer’s administrative staff and the Communications Digital Recording Communications Equipment Room (DRCER) officer will follow the guidelines established in this directive.
4.1.1 The Request for Tape Recording form will be checked and logged into the Incoming Correspondence database indicating date received, date forwarded and due date.
4.1.2 An entry number will be assigned and attached to the top right hand corner of the form.
4.1.3 The Request for Tape Recording form will be hand delivered to the DRCER officer.
4.1.4 The DCRCR officer will log the request on the request log form.
4.1.5 When the request is completed the DRCER officer will return the form to the commander’s office personnel.
4.1.6 The Commanding Officer’s administrative staff will log the request per section 4.1.1 above and contact the requester for pickup. Upon receipt, office personnel will make sure the “tape receipt” portion of the request is completed.
4.2 Non-Law Enforcement Requests
4.2.1 The Commanding Officer’s administrative staff will log any requests received from the Public Affairs Office. The DRCER officer will advise office personnel of the expected completion date.
4.2.2 The DRCER officer will re-log the request before recording or printing out the requested information.
4.2.3 Once the request is complete it will be returned to the Commanding Officer’s administrative staff and logged per sections 4.1.1 and 4.1.6 above.
