The purpose of this Section Command Memorandum is to establish procedures for employees to follow when they request to take time off. 2. POLICY It is the policy of the Atlanta Police Department Airport Section that all employees are afforded opportunity to take earned time off. 3. RESPONSIBILITIES 3.1 It is the responsibility of all supervisors to insure their subordinates adhere to the procedures established in this section command memorandum. 3.2 It is the responsibility of the watch commander to file all completed “Request for Time Off” memorandums in the employees unit file. These competed memorandums will be maintained in the file for a period of one year and available for inspection by the Section Commander or his/her designee. 3.3 It the responsibility of each employee to know if he/she has accrued time before requesting time off. 3.4 It is the responsibility of each employee to notify the courts when requesting five or more days off. 4. ACTION 4.1 Employees wishing to take time off are required to complete the memorandum “Request for Time Off.” A copy is attached. 4.2 Supervisors will note the days the employees requests on his/her calendar and will note the date the employee made his/her request by each day requested. 4.3 When employees call in to take time off the supervisor granting the requested time will complete the “Employee Called In to Take Time Off” section of the memorandum “Request For Time Off.” 5.
