Accidents – Early Warning Recommendation

1.               PURPOSE

 

The intent of this directive is to ensure that an Early Warning recommendation is made on an employee after involvement in two or more chargeable accidents within a six (6) month period.

 

2.               POLICY

 

It is the policy of the Atlanta Police Department that the employee’s chain of command will recommend Early Warning if an employee has two or more chargeable accidents in a City vehicle within a six month period.

 

3.               RESPONSIBILITIES

 

                  The employee’s immediate supervisor will initiate an Early Warning recommendation after two (2) chargeable accidents.

 

4.               ACTION

 

4.1              After the accident package is completed and it is determined that the employee has been involved in two or more chargeable accidents, the immediate supervisor will initiate an Early Warning recommendation.
