1.               PURPOSE

The intent of this directive is to ensure that reports of all arrests on extra jobs are completed and submitted to the B.A.R.T. officer.

2.               POLICY

The Atlanta Police Department reports all arrests on police reports in cases that are bound over from Municipal Court to higher courts.

3.               RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1              Any officer who works an extra job must complete a police report when he/she makes an arrest.

4.               ACTION

4.1              When an officer makes an arrest while working an extra job, a police report must be completed.

4.2              The officer will take the police report and other documentation to a supervisor at the nearest police precinct of the extra job to be approved and signed.

4.3              Once the reports and other documentation is signed, copies will be made and submitted to the officer’s regular assignment to be placed in the B.A.R.T. basket.

4.4              FOD/AO will be notified when reports are not completed and the Field Operations Division commander will review the officer’s extra job request.
