Employees exposed to known tuberculosis or meningitis patients will be tested appropriately. |
||
Employees who transport a suspected or known tuberculosis or meningitis patient will notify his or her supervisor, transport the subject with the vehicle's windows open, the air conditioning off and the fan in non-re-circulate mode.

Tuberculosis: A communicable disease, caused by a bacteria resulting in lesions in the lungs, bones |

and other body parts. Tuberculosis may be contracted through respiratory secretions from the respiratory tract. |

Meningitis: An acute bacterial infection of the brain and spinal cord associated with fever, severe |
||
headache, nausea, vomiting and coma. |
